Audience research To research the audience I have made a Google form and asked different people to fill out it, Types of dark fantasy that are more popular with the audience  (according to my research) Typed of Dark fantasies that  may intrigue the audience  Specific elements in dark fantasies that may lead to failure with the audience The preferred ending of the genre Dark Fantasy among the audience

Green Screen practice on Adobe After Effects

Image
Green Screen practice on Adobe After Effects Here I have tried to create the green screen effect on Adobe After Effects, Since I don't have a Green Screen, I have tried to replicate the green screen using green paper and stuck it on a white board. Using this, I positioned a soft toy in front of it and videoed it for a few seconds, Then I used a reference video from  the website Pixabay  for the background, Editing Process: End Result:  reference tutorial: Remove Green Screen Practicing the green screen effect helped me understand how it is used and the procedure behind the scenes.

Opening Sequence Research

Opening sequence research To get a clearer idea of my genre, I have researched opening scenes of the same genre. This will help me understand how my end project will support the genre I chose. Pan's Labyrinth Opening Sequence The opening starts with a melody that suits the lullaby and gives the viewers an idea about the genre being child but also with the slight horror sensation the melody gives it also evokes the feeling of horror, and fear that the general theme of the movie is portrayed with. The first visual on screen is "Ophelia" the main character lying on the the floor (the scene of her death) giving an idea to the audience that at one point this sequence of the movie is going to happen. And with the typical"once upon a time" narrative it is seemingly giving a sense of fantasy that is included.   Sweet Home Opening Sequence (Season one)  As Sweet Home is a series about being possessed by some kind of virus the opening scene too describes how a person gets...

Experiment in Photography

Image
Experiment in photography As I learned about LED screens being used in film production I want to try it on a smaller scale with the convenience of what I have. As my genre of Dark Fantasy consists of the use of a lot of futuristic technologies I thought of trying this out on a smaller scale   As seen here, I have used the tablet to create a smaller version of an LED screen, with a small ornament as the main focus. The first outcome was ok but because the outer layer is seen it was not the outcome I wanted to depict  This picture was more successful than the earlier version.  This picture shows a full version of the previous one. Learning outcome: Here I have learned to focus the camera on the specific object. How lighting is a key function in filming/photography.  How to angle the camera according to the object placement.

A dystopian setting is a world where society is deeply flawed, oppressive, and filled with nightmare Movies/TV Shows that show the theme of a dystopian setting  Sweet Home This series shows a dystopian setting in a postapocalyptic society, where people are ruled by the government and half mutants are taken to labs to create antidotes for full human beings to survive. (source - Pinterest) After Society collapses - People are trapped and have no freedom people are ruled on and watched by helicopters from the government. Shadow and Bone Shadow and Bone has dystopian elements such as authoritative rules, social inequality, and constant war.
